Natural Kids / Tweens / Teens Skincare Ingredients

Aloe Vera (a.k.a. aloe barbadensis leaf extract): a soothing/calming ingredient that is also anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and anti-allergic.  Is moisturizing and promotes healing as well. 

Clary – a sage essential oil that is relaxing and helps to calm/balance the skin.

Coconut – a fruit high in vitamins A, D, and K, which helps skin to absorb fat-soluble vitamins; (natural acid content: caprylic acid, capric acid, lauric acid, myristic acid, palmitic acid, stearic acid, oleic acid, linoleic acid).  Benefits include being antimicrobial and antiviral, which support immunity and the health of skin.  Helps to fight free radicals, is anti-inflammatory, skin softening and strengthening. 

Green Tea – extracted from green tea leaves and is rich in antioxidants and anti- inflammatory properties.  Protects against skin damage resulting from free radicals, pollutants, and UV radiation.

Grape – extract from the grape that are antioxidant and anti-inflammatory.  Functions to keep pores clean and revitalize skin.  Helps to improve skin elasticity and suppleness.  Reduces skin dehydration, evens skin tone, and protects against UV damage.

Hyaluronic Acid (derivative is sodium hyaluronate) – naturally found in our skin and forms the framework for our skin.  It has the ability to bind

over 1,000 times its’ weight in water, resulting in its’ high ability to keep the skin moisturized.  Functions to keep skin soft, hydrated, and plump. 

Jojoba – a seed rich in vitamins E & B; (natural acid content: palmitic acid, oleic acid, eicosenoic acid, docosenoic acid).  Helps to act as a protectant, boost skin immunity, and balance pH.  It is antibacterial, emollient, antioxidant, and softening.

Lavender  – a flower that is anti-inflammatory, calming, skin soothing, and anti-bacterial.

Lemon – peels used from the lemon fruit that are antibacterial, antiseptic, cleansing, and immune boosting. 

Squalene – an oil derived from olives, that creates a barrier to keep in moisture and lubricate skin.  A powerful antioxidant that prevents UV damage, is antibacterial, and is easily absorbed into the skin. 

Milk Thistle – anti-inflammatory ingredient and helps to protect UV’s harmful effects.

Olive Oil (a.k.a. Olea Europaea) – hydrating and a natural source of squalene.  Antioxidant and helps overproduction of oil – helps maintain proper moisture balance.  Aids healing skin and is noncomedogenic.  Helps skin to maintain its’ smoothness and softness.

Orange – peels used from the orange fruit that are anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, and antibacterial.

Rice Bran (a.k.a. Oryza Sativa) – rich in squalene and antioxidants. 

Rosemary – Antibacterial and oil-regulating.

Sunflower Seed Oil (a.k.a. Helianthus annus)- Moisturizes, is noncomedogenic, and is anti-inflammatory. 

Vitamin C (a.k.a. sodium ascorbyl phosphate) – a nutrient that is anti-inflammatory, brightens skin, and is an antioxidant.  Helps to protect skin from sun damage.

Vitamin E (a.k.a. tocopherol) –a nutrient that decreases damage associated with UVB radiation.
